Many of the Tenor arias selected here are amongst the most frequently performed extracts from the great Oratorios. I have provided many of them with singable English translations. Others have been selected because of their general usefulness for teaching or for solo performance purposes. Some arias have not been readily available in straightforward piano score for some years. Editorial harmonisations of the figured bass are shown in small type.
